What is the registration in the website for?

The registration allows you to do your shopping in the three LIDEL Group websites. Whenever you want to place an order, you don't have to enter you data again, as the data you entered when registering or the data used in the last order are assumed automatically. You can, however, change them whenever you want.Your registration also allows you to review past orders and manage your list of favorite books.

How can I register myself on the website?

To register, just access the page New Registration and fill in the fields provided. You will be forwarded to LIDEL website, where you must fill in the fields provided. After completing the registration, you will receive a registration confirmation in your email.

Can I change the data of my registration later?

Yes, you can change the data of your registration anytime you want. For that purpose, you need to Login in one of LIDEL Group websites and, in your account, access the page Edit Data. You will be forwarded to LIDEL website, where you can change your data.

I forgot my password. How can I retrieve it?

If you forget your password, access the page Login and enter your email in the appropriate section ("Forgot your password?”) in order for us to send you and email retrieving your password.

How can I be reassured about the safeguards regarding privacy and safety while entering my personal data in the website?

The privacy and security of your data is a major concern for the LIDEL Group. For more information, refer to the page Privacy and Security Policy.

How can I subscribe the newsletter?

How can I subscribe the newsletter?

When you do your registration in the LIDEL Group websites, you have the possibility to subscribe the newsletter. Alternatively, you can enter your email in the Newsletter section, in the left side of the pages of the LIDEL Group websites.

How often will I receive the newsletter?

The LIDEL Group newsletter is sent once a month. Occasionally, you can also receive newsletters with campaigns and other special actions.

Will the newsletter inform me only about books related to my interests?

In case you have subscribed the newsletter "Technical Books", you will be informed about all the new publications by the several brands of Group and, therefore, about the several thematic areas in which we publish.

How can I cancel the subscription of the newsletter?

At the end of every newsletter you will find a hyperlink to cancel your registration.

How can I download the additional materials of my book?

I can't find the additional material of my book. What should I do?

How can I download the additional materials of my book?

The additional materials are available for download in the respective book pages. Alternatively, you can download the additional materials of you book in the Downloads page. You must enter the ISBN and answer the questions asked.

What is the back cover of a book?

The back cover is the back side of a book, in which there is usually the presentation text of the book, as well as the barcode and the ISBN of the publication.

I can't find the additional material of my book. What should I do?

If you can't find the additional material that you are looking for in the Downloads page, probably that material refers to a book that is no longer available for sale. If your book is old or out of print the additional material is no longer available.

How can I order a book?

How can I order a book?

To order a product you must be registered in one of the LIDEL Group websites. You must add it to your "Shopping Cart", clicking the "Buy” button next to each product. As you add items to your order, the value of your order will be updated in the upper right corner of the page. When you finish your order, just click on "Shopping Cart” and you will be redirected to LIDEL website, where you can see the complete list of your shopping. LIDEL is the official distributor of FCA.

I have continued to "Shopping Cart", but I want to add more books to my order. Can I leave my order?

You can leave your order whenever you want, as long as you haven't done the payment yet. You can add and remove items to/from your "Cart" and move on again to the ordering process. The items you previously add to your "Shopping Cart" will be memorized in the Cart.

What does it mean "Subject to Confirmation”?

A product with the information "Subject to Confirmation” means that the stock is limited. In case that it isn't possible to satisfy your order in the estimated due date, or if it isn't possible to satisfy it at all, you will be informed by email within two working days. If it isn't possible to deliver an order already paid, in whole or in part, the value of the product not delivered will be refunded within 15 days, at the most. You can choose to receive the amount through a shopping voucher to be used in one of our websites, or by bank transfer to your IBAN.

Which are the available methods of payment?

You can choose between the following payment methods: credit card, ATM or Bank Transfer.The orders placed with the methods ATM and Bank Transfer will be valid for a period of 15 days. In case that the payment is not received in that period of time, the order will be cancelled.

How do I know that my order was finalized successfully?

As soon as you finish your order, you will receive a confirmation email with the description and quantity of all the ordered products, your billing and delivery data and the amount to be paid. You should keep this message until you receive your order, as it is the proof that the order was placed successfully.

I couldn't finish the order process. Does the website keep the record of the order?

If you couldn't finish your order, you can finish it later. After doing Login in one of the LIDEL Group websites, your "Shopping Cart" will present the list of products you have added previously.

How can I use my shopping voucher?

After moving on to your "Shopping Cart", you will be asked to enter the code of your voucher, and the amount of the voucher will be deducted from the total of your order. You can only use one voucher per order.

How many times can I use my shopping voucher?

The terms of use of your voucher vary according to the information provided at the time you received it. For more information, contact us via the email livraria@lidel.pt.

What is the difference between percentage voucher and fixed value voucher?

Percentage vouchers represent a percentage discount that will be applied to your order. This discount can not be combined with any other discount, so in case there is a promotion the website will choose the most advantageous situation for you.

Fixed value vouchers represent a sum of money that will be deducted on your order. If you decide to use a voucher which value is higher than the total amount of books ordered, there will be no refund of the difference.

Vouchers are non-refundable and can not be converted to cash.



Can I use my voucher to buy used books?

Only fixed value vouchers can be redeemed when purchasing used books.

What is the amount of the shipping charges?

The calculation of the shipping charges is directly related to the address of delivery and the total weight of the order. During the ordering process, after entering the delivery address and before accepting and finalizing the order, the amount of the shipping charges to be paid will be presented.

Which company will do the delivery of my order?

The company that will do the delivery of your order depends on the delivery address.
If your address is in Continental Portugal, the orders will be shipped by a transportation company. To Madeira and Azores, the orders will be shipped by CTT.
As for the orders to be delivered to other countries, they are shipped by a transportation company or by CTT, according to the chosen destination.
During the ordering process, after entering the delivery address and before finalizing the order, the way of shipping and amount of the shipping charges will be presented.

How long does it take for me to receive my order?

The time for delivery of an order varies according to the delivery address. Refer to the mean reference times below, considering that these should be counted from the date in which the order was paid.

Continental Portugal: Up to 3 working days.
Madeira and Azores: Up to 10 working days.
Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Estonia, France, Netherlands, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, United Kingdom, Czech Republic and Sweden: 5 to 7 working days.
Bulgaria, Croatia, Finland and Romania: Up to 9 working days.
Other countries: 8 to 10 working days.

I still haven´t receive my order. What should I do?

If the reception of your order is taking longer than the period provided, contact us via the email livraria@lidel.pt (national orders) or depinternacional@lidel.pt (international orders).

Can I cancel my order?

The possibility to cancel your order depends on the status of the order. To make a cancellation, you should send an email to livraria@lidel.pt (national orders) or depinternacional@lidel.pt (international orders) stating the number of the order you want to cancel. In case that you order has already been shipped, you cannot cancel it.

In which situations can I exchange/return the products I purchased?

After receiving your order, you have up to 14 days to exchange/return the products. In case your order has been done in a promotion period, it is not allowed to return the products, but only to exchange them.The products for exchange/return must be in perfect conditions, as they were delivered, keeping the original packaging and with the respective two copies of the invoice.
To make an exchange/return, contact us via the email livraria@lidel.pt (national orders) or depinternacional@lidel.pt (international orders), stating the reason for exchange/return and the number of the order.

In case of exchange/return, do I have to pay for the shipping charges?

Yes. The shipping charges regarding exchanges/returns are paid by the client,except in the cases in which the product(s) received do not correspond to your order or have printing defects.

In case of return, when and how will I be refunded of the amount paid?

After reception of the returned products, the client will be refunded within 15 days, at the most. You can choose to receive the amount through a shopping voucher to be used in one of our websites, or by bank transfer to your IBAN.
There will be no refund for lost products during the return process, i.e., products that have never been received at the LIDEL Group warehouse.

The product I received doesn't correspond to what I ordered/the product I received has printing defects. What should I do?

In case of one of these situations, contact us via the email livraria@lidel.pt (national orders) or depinternacional@lidel.pt (international orders), explaining what happened and stating the number of the order.

a) Which eBook format is available in the websites of LIDEL Group?

The available format for sale is VBK. This format is specific for the online/offline reading application from VitalSource Bookshelf, used by LIDEL Group. It has similar functionalities to an ePub or, in some cases, to pdf.

b) Is my device compatible with the eBook format?

The eBooks available for sale can be read online in any device with Internet access or in any Browser. For offline reading, you will have to download the VitalSource Bookshelf application available for Windows, iOS and Android.

c) Do I need to install a reading application in my device?

Yes, if you want to read eBooks in offline mode. If you are using the online mode, you just need to have access to a Browser.

d) In how many devices can I access the VitalSource Bookshelf offline application?

VitalSource Bookshelf allows that you have two computers and two devices activated at any moment. If you want to activate a different computer or a mobile device from the ones already activated and you have already received an error message ”You reached the maximum number of activations”, you can remove a former computer or mobile device from the activation list in order to activate the new one. In order to be able to do that, just sign in in the VitalSource online area and in the upper right corner click on the managing account icon (represented by a doll). Then, just click on the option devices and deactivate the desired device in order to be able to add a new one. To add a new device, you just need to sign in in the VitalSource Bookshelf offline application using that new device.

e) How can I buy an eBook?

To buy, just choose the eBooks tab in the left side of your screen and in the desired subject area, you will have access to the available eBooks. If there is an eBook version of one of our printed books, this option will be displayed in each book page, above its title. After finding the desired eBook you should click in the "buy” button and the eBook will be added to your shopping card. It’s not possible to buy more than one copy of the same eBook.

f) Which are the available payment methods to buy my eBooks?

It is only possible to buy eBooks through Credit Card payment. As an alternative, you can use the MBNet system, after registration in an ATM terminal.

g) Can I buy books and eBooks in the same order?

Yes, but in that case the payment will have to be made with Credit Card or MBNet.



h) How do I receive my eBook?

After validation of the payment of your order, you will receive a confirmation email with all the access credentials (login and password) in the VitalSource account, as well as the link where you can access the VitalSource sign in area. After the sign in with the credentials provided in the email, you will have access to your library where the purchased book will be available. It’s recommended, for safety reasons, that you change your password for access to VitalSource. From that moment on, you can read your eBook online. To read your eBook in offline mode, follow the steps provided in k).

i) How do I receive the invoice?

If your order just has eBooks, the invoice will be sent to the email address given in your registry, in the working days after the purchase. If the order also includes printed books, the invoice will be sent to the address of delivery with the merchandise.

j) How to read an eBook in online mode in a computer, tablet or Smartphone?

To read an eBook online in any device, you just need to access the following link: https://bookshelf.vitalsource.com/#/user/signin and insert your email and password. After the sign in, you will enter your library and you can choose the book to read.

k) How to read an eBook in offline mode in a computer, tablet or Smartphone?

To read an eBook offline in any device, you just need to access the following link: https://support.vitalsource.com/hc/en-us/articles/201344733-Bookshelf-Download-Page and download the reading application, according to the device chosen. After the installation of the application, you will have to sign in with the same email and password from VitalSource in the online mode and you will have access to your library. The library will synchronize and you will have access to the purchased books.

l) The eBooks are always available after the download?

After doing the synchronization of your VitalSource library in the offline application, your eBooks will always be available.

m) Can I print, copy or share my eBook?

The options to print, copy or share your eBook are not available.

n) How many downloads of the same eBook can I do?

You will only need to download your eBook once, as you will always have to sign in in the VitalSource offline application in each one of the devices, after synchronization of the library, and your eBook will be always available.

o) Can I return my eBook back and receive the respective reimbursement?

No. After delivery, the eBook cannot be returned, as it is a digital product. Due to the digital format of eBooks, the download will be considered as "opening the package”, and after that moment, it is no longer possible to return the product. 

p) I don´t live in Portugal. Can I buy eBooks in the websites of LIDEL Group?

Yes, but there can be restrictions to the sale of eBooks to certain countries due to publication copyrights. If a product is not available for your country, in the checkout you will receive a message with the information: "The purchase of the following product(s) is not allowed for the selected country.”

q) Are there limitations to use my eBooks?

In the eBooks from LIDEL Group it is not allowed to print or copy text, images or tables. Also, it is not possible to do searches in the tables of some books of LIDEL Group. It will not be possible to zoom the images of some books of LIDEL Group.

r) What can I do with my eBook?

- I can browse the content table to get faster to the chapter/section that I want;
- I can search text and terms;
- I can highlight the text and then it will appear in the "Highlights” section;
- I can take notes and then it will appear in the "Highlights” section;
- I can increase/decrease the font size;
- The selected text can be read to me by the "start reading” tool (via machine automatic reading) in my computer;
- I can access to all the books in "My library”.

Used books are books which may present one or more small defects, due to store browsing and display.

B) What kind of damage can a used book have?

Used books may be sunned, rubbed, have a small tear, a dinged corner, have a creased spine, or have other defects.

C) Do the above mentioned conditions prevent or difficult reading?

No. We only sell used books in either good or very good conditions.

D) Do used books have missing pages?

No. Used books are exactly like new books, in terms of content, with possible defects, described above.

You should present us your project, and fill in the form available in the Authors Area. Your proposal will be analyzed by our Editorial Department, which will later contact you.

What is the LIDEL Group?

The LIDEL Group is the major editorial group of Portuguese technical books, consisting of the publisher and distributor LIDEL and the publishers FCA, ETEP, PACTOR, and fcadesign. To know more about our Group, refer to the page About Us.

Which are the LIDEL Group websites?

The LIDEL Group websites include the website of the publisher and distributor LIDEL (www.lidel.pt), the website of the publisher FCA (www.fca.pt) and the website of the publisher PACTOR (www.pactor.pt). After registering in one of the LIDEL Group websites, you can use your data to access any of the other website of the Group. The distribution and sale of the books available in the three websites is the responsibility of the distributor LIDEL.

Where can I buy the LIDEL Group books?

In Portugal, the LIDEL Group books are available in the main bookstores and in the LIDEL bookstore, in Lisbon (see location).

In the remaining countries, you can buy the LIDEL Group books through several partners. For more information, refer to the page Find Us.

Our books are also available in several online bookstores and in the LIDEL Group websites. In the website www.lidel.pt you can find all the published books by the Group; in www.fca.pt and www.pactor.pt, you will have access to the books published by the publishers FCA and PACTOR, respectively.

What is the ISBN?

The ISBN (International Standard Book Number) is the number that identifies exclusively a certain publication. You can find the ISBN of your book in the back cover (back side of your book), next to the barcode. In case of eBooks, you can find the ISBN in the credits.

What is the Law on Fixed Book Prices?

The fixed-price law determines that a book cannot be sold to the public with more than 10% discount on the Retail Price set by the publisher, in the first 18 months after the date of its first publication, except exclusions defined by law.
